Unknown device driver

  1. hey guys my computer keeps randomly restarting and when i send in the error report after restarting it says in the description that it was caused by an unknown device driver and i cant figure out y its saying that all my drivers for everything are installed perfectly as to my knowledge. Please help

    hmm.. have you tried a system restore? try to restore back as far as you can go and see if this helps.. other than that i would say a fresh install of all drivers would be the best thing.

    open device manager and check if any devices have yellow question marks next to it.

    i did that and one did have that and it was a ethernet device so i installed the driver but no luck. however i just installed the same driver again and so far its good, also i updated directx 9.0 to with the latest update and its been good since so ill keep u guys up to date if it continues to happen.

    Do you have service pack 2?
    If not, install it. Even if it works well, you should install it. Service pack 2 corrects many compatibility problems with devices.
    That could help.
