Upgrading an old budget gaming PC

My current specs are
CPU - AMD Phenom II x4 955be
Mobo- Asus m4a78
RAM - 8gigs DDR2
PSU -Corsair VS450
GPY -GTX 750ti

The only reason why I'm upgrading is because my mono has suddenly stopped supporting the 750ti,I've done everything I can but its not resolved.
My first thought was to get a new mobo but there are only DDR3 supporting mobos I can find so I'll also have to get new RAM,so I'm thinking if I have to get a new mobo and RAM why not get a new CPU and leave this system unchanged, though I'll be using the older GPU and the PSU in the new build for sometimes.

I have shortlisted two CPUs for the new build:
Ryzen 3 1300x
i3-8100k
Now the problem is I was going for i3 but it doesn't have any budget boards currently, so should I go with ryzen or wait for budget boards for i3?

Before anything else, you may wish to test the 750 Ti on another system.

Also, nice to know your budget and location with an idea of intended use (games you play?, etc).

As a matter of fact I sent it to gigabyte and they testes it ok,after that I also tested it on a friend's system, runs fine.I actually made a whole thread on this some time ago on this forum and some others but never got any solution.
I'm from India and the budget is around 20k-25k Indian Rupees.
I'll use it for gaming mostly, 1080p medium to high settings

So roughly you can spend about 360.00 us dollars on a budget right ?

Now I see why your worried let me look at somethings on amazon india and somewhere else.
Trust me on this you don't want to be on a dual core for gaming or desktop productivity for windows.

Edit:

2,000 rupees less than the asrock you found via through part picker.

https://www.amazon.in/Intel-Generat...d=1513599049&sr=1-4&keywords=core+i3+lga+1151

I had no idea that core i3 8100 was a quadcore, my apology for not being able to read right.
9700 rupees used or 9900 rupees brand new.

https://www.amazon.in/HyperX-Black-...id=1513599320&sr=1-1&keywords=hyperx+8gb+ddr4

Thats for 7800 rupees compared to 8000 rupees, kingston ram works best in msi and gigabyte boards.
If you went that route you would pay less, but there you have it.
Make sure you are a amazon prime member, if so you will save better on prime free shipping or 2 day shipping if offered.

I'd like it to be less than 360 but I can go 360 if the performance is worth it.
As for the parts you mentioned the motherboard that u found, afaik its not compatible with the 8th gen Intel.
Only z370 chipsets are compatible and they are pricey as u saw.how much would be the performance difference between the RAM you mentioned and the one I did?
Also how would be the performance on the ryzen platform?

Honestly the way parts cost right around this time of year thats the best you could hope for.
For the amd ryzen and intel kabylake its a neck and neck tie but core i3 8100 you were eyeing is your best bet.

Look below the page and click on the more details tab for each cpu.
AMD misses it by 5% or 10% on somethings but it still rivals with intel.

For the ram part go with hyper x kingston memory, crucial is just as good.
If you can afford to pay for it go with kingston they have better warrenty if it may die unexpectedly.
If you can't afford kingston go with crucial ballistix.
Some may laugh here, but crucial does better on amd cpu-apu, especially if you intend to game alot.

Thank you for your suggestions,Intel setup would be costlier to me as compared to AMDs and as u said its a neck and neck tie then AMD is best vom.
