USB 2.0 ports only working at a slower speed

Ive recently formatted my comp and after installing Windows SP2 and all its updates my USB ports only work at a slow speed. So i cant connect things like a digital cam and my printer.

This has happened to me before I cant remember how I fixed it. Ive uninstalled the USB drivers so that windows re-installs them when i restart but it doesnt work. Thats all the help microsoft has on their online support section.

Has anyone else had this problem before?

Maybe you could try finding and downloading some new drivers to install. Everytime you uninstall the ones you have now and reboot it just reinstalls the same drivers. Try some different drivers

In your Bios Setup , look for a setting that changes the USB speed to "Hi-speed"
