Ok, I work in a good sized electronics shop, we have 20 plus new computers built at the local computer shop with Windows XP Pro, everything else is really standard. We have the need to use barcode scanners so we ended up getting the cheapest hunk of junk the computer shop had (POSX 3000I http://www.pos-x.com/product.asp?prodid=32) and no the POS part is not a joke. You can plug in the scanner and Windows will find a driver for Human Interface Device and the scanner will work. Sometimes when the computers startup in the mornings, the scanner will not work, the device manager shows the yellow ! and says Error Code 10, this device cannot start. The scanner comes with a pocket CD that only has a program and manual on it, the manual doesnt say anything about drivers, there are no drivers on their site, etc. The program requires you to select a com port to be able to download or upload settings from the scanner or to change settings. Any Ideas where to find drivers that would help it start each morning without needing to restart the computer or change ports multiple times to get it to start and be recognized properly?

What do you think of using a USB to PS2 adpater to change the usb into the PS2 and a PS2 Y adapter to get both this scanner and keyboard on the keyboard jack of the mother board, no drivers needed?
