I just installed Windows XP Pro to my new computer. And while installing the stuff on my motherboard disk,it said it couldn't find the USBEHCI file. Please, does anyone know how to counter this. Also i have a little exclimation point by my usb controller and a question mark over my pci slot in the device manager. Can anyone help?

Look for the file on your CD?

Actually, you should download and install the latest drivers from the mobo maker's website (or the chipset maker). Drivers on CDs are always outdated.

there should be a copy under \windows\I386 and the last character of the extension will be '_'.

  1. copy it to \windows\system32\drivers
  2. delete the existing USBEHCI.SYS
  3. rename USBEHCI.SY_ to USBEHCI.SYS
  4. and reboot
