USD device Formatting

Hi All,
I have a USB device of 512 MB. When I connected it to my pc , it asked me to format it be4 use. When i formatted it, the cacity reduces to 119 Mb. The OS from which i formatted is XP SP2. What should i do to recover the capacity?

Make sure it formats as fat32 and not ntfs.
