i recently tried to log on to my profile and a message came up saying something along the lines of :
"windows cannot load the locally stored profile"
after that another message pops up saying that i may have insufficient security rights.
it then loads a default profile and im unable to alter any display settings.
all my files and programs are intact.
i've tried following the advise of others in this forum but unfortunately nothing so far has worked.
if i long on as another user with administrator rights, it doesnt allow me to do anything to my original profile. if i try to access it i get access denied messages. this also means i cannot copy the profile to another one. nor can i rename the profile or edit it unless i log on with the corrupt profile.
nothing looks untoward in the reg edit, and if i right click on my computer and go to user profiles, there are two versions of my profile listed. both are local type, but under status one is "local" and the other is "backup".
please can some one help me
