VGA Mode

  1. In Windows XP Pro, what does enabling VGA mode do? Does it boost performance, or slow it down or what? :confused:

    It forces the OS to use 640x480x4 (ie. 16 colors) 60 Hz display mode. It's normally used when troubleshooting display-related problems. All the acceleration functions are disabled so it does slow down things.

    A nice little feature when some inferior technical power has fitted a new flat screen monitor and not tested its capabilites as I recently found in my work.....
