I currently have a nvidia 64 meg ti4200 card but wanted to know if the nvidia 128 meg fx5200 was anybetter. I have heard mixed reviews of the cards but never a comparison/ contrast between the two........what should i do?

there is no real comparison between the two the Ti4200 is a far more powerful card. the FX5200 series is the replacement for the G4MX series not the G4 ti 4200. you have to go to a FX5600 ultra to beat the performance of the Ti4200.

You wont see a whole lot of performance change between those 2 cards from what I can tell from the spec's on each.

I'm not sure what your budget is, and it really also depends on your computers spec's also, but if you want a worthwhile increase for your money then I would suggest getting a higher end card like the 5600FX ($132.00).

have a read of this -
http://www.envynews.com/?ID=516&page=4
it shows a FX5600 and 5600 Ultra and a Ti4200 & 4600
the scores for a 5200/5200 Ultra are considerably slower on all accounts - the 5600 Ultra would be a good upgrade for your 4200 but the 5200 would be more of a downgrade

If your not using AA or AF, the Ti4200 is as good as an FX5600ULTRA revision2. And if you are using AA and AF, then the FX5600 would be an upgrade, but for the same price...
grab a non-pro R9700

Don't think about an FX5200, it's a downgrade.

wow......thanks guys thats exactly what i needed to know....fortunatly i would have been given the 5200 card for free but seeing that its a downgrade ill pass that one up....you guys rock....thanks again
