Videos Will Not Work

for some time now my computer has not played videos online/DVD/clips on my computer. I don't remember when it started happening. My specs are
- A MD 1.24 GHZ
- 1 GB ram
- XP
- NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS

I have reinstalled Media Player, used an older version, tried quicktime and nothing works.
can anyone give me a suggestion on what this might be. I have updated drivers on the vid card too

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your problem is probably due to missing codecs.

Download and instal the K-lite codec pack, hopefully, that`ll solve yourt problem.

howard that did not work. Thanks though.

Whenever I open up a video file it almost freezes my computer it goes soo slow and the mouse jumps everywhere I have to wait and crtl alt del it before I can get my comp back to normal speed. Makes no sense to me

Try uninstalling and reinstalling your graphics card drivers. see if that helps.

Also, check in your device manager for any yellow exclamation of questions marks.
