Viewing Icons in Windoze Eggs-Pea (XP)

HI...

When i view a quantity of Icons in a folder in Windoze Eggs-Pea (XP) they seem to display randomly, some 16x16, some 32x32, some 48x48 etc etc, and i know that they can be displayed larger (and/or smaller).

Is there any way that Windows can display them at their largest (or all the same) size???

Or is there a small program that can display Icons in all their sizes???

Basically, all im trying to do is sort out some icons to use that ive downloaded.
But when it displays them, half of them are too small to see what the hell they are!!!!

If anyone could help me, i'd be grateful...

Cheers...

The icons "should" display the size that is set by the system if available. In "Thumbnail" view however, your sizes are likely to vary and some may be distorted. You can try Microangelo, it will allow you to convert several icons into a single library that will save space and make it easier to keep track of them. It also allows you to view and edit icons and integrates nicely into XP.

There are several similar products available, that is just the one I use and it costs $69 for the full version.

Try shifting your view from icons to details or list. Then switch back to icons.
I use details myself...Viewing it like this will eliminate your problem.
What type of icons are you looking at? Ones of what? If they are pictures than it probably depends on the size of the picture.

Thanks Stormbringer & Vehementi for replying...

Im trying to look at Icons - .ico files.

Ive tried to view using list, details and then back to thumbnail, but they still view as random sizes, do they view as their smallest, largest or random size in Thumbnail???

If i just view them in Details or list then they are too small to view properly, and i don't know what different sizes are avialalbe in each Icon...

Looks like i might have to invest in a Specialist Icon program like Microangelo or similar...

Unless you two or anyone else has any more ideas???

Cheers...

Maybe I'm not fully understanding your problem or maybe it is something simple and I'm just missing it. A screenshot might help.

Thumbnail will stretch the size of the icon to whatever the thumbnail size is set to on your system. Tile will just distort them unless they are alpha-blended, then they will usually look pretty good. Icon view should show them in 32x32 or 48x48 or whatever your icons are set to. In details and list views, they should show up as their smaller version (usually 16x16)

Stormbringer, I love ya;)

I dont know why, but i didnt try to use the Tile View or Icon View... D'oh!!!

But thanks to you, i realised what i was doing wrong.
In Tile view they look perfect....

Thanks again....
