After undergoing successful diagnosis on Techspot for whataboutadog (Thanks again Howard...), I programmed my AVG av to screen at 0300 daily. On 11/01, a virus named Obfustat.UUU was detected and automatically deleted.

It was found in the following:

C:\\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ctdvda2k.sys

I run a daily AVG AV as well as AVG Antispyware. So far, since I started with AVG on 10/19, this is the only thing caught.

Howard, any suggestions for further actions or do you believe AVG had taken the issue and dealt with it completely?

Thanks to all.

That file is actually a legit Creative file for your sound card, though it is possible it was infected with some malware. It`s also possible it was a false positive picked up by AVG.

Just see how things run for a few days, if you start to have any sound problems, you`ll know why and will probably need to reinstall your soundcard software/drivers.

Regards Howard :)
