for more than 1 month i've been trying to figure out why my laptop is sooo slow, i tried asking for help around here and they suggested stuff but was still not able to fix the problem.. but i figured something.. when i check my task manager there is a running process: hpqtoa~.exe when i tried to end that process my computer speed went back to normal.. anyone knows how to remove this "virus"... avg and anti-vir + kapersky and housecall online can't see this hpqtoa~.exe

Please post a HijackThis log as an attachment as per this thread. Then we can see whether or not your system is infected.

That file is not a virus, but a legit HP file.

Try renaming or moving the file temporarily and see if you experience any problems.

C:\PROGRA~1\HPQ\SHARED\HPQTOA~1.EXE
