Hi

We are running Vista Ultimate
We have a Asus M2V-MX motherboard
ProGamer AMD64 X2 3800+ Cpu.

I suspect this maybe a BIOS issue but not sure.

Vista was working fine for the last 5 months. Wednesday (maybe after a Windows update?) - it would not boot - black screen for very long time - finally booted after 5 minutes maybe - then it said it found new hardware - slowly installs:pci to pci bridge - both wireless and NIC card - and a number of other hardware items - finds them all - eventually - another 5 minutes of waiting - and then all works fine.
Do another boot - no long wait - comes up right away - but has to find all the same hardware again.(over and over)

Do a system restore - to no avail.

I did some reading on the various sites and someone mentioned a BIOS update since this mohterboard is not really Vista compatible. ??
I am suspicious since it all worked fine for the last 5 months.

Any feed back welcome.
