I notice there are other threads about this virus but my machine ha sbeen infected by it as well. I know very little about these things so if anyone can give me some very easy to follow advice it would be very much appreciated.

Please read this thread here: If your system is infected. Read this before deciding whether to CLEAN or REFORMAT.

If, after reading the above thread, you decide to clean, check out this thread: Viruses/spyware/malware preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly, then post fresh HJT and AVG logs as attachments.
