Web Site Access Error Message "www-authenticae header

I am trying to access a website through my companies email and keep getting the following error below.

What can I do to access this web site?....The web site is a Company Partners site for our sales force. Is this a Proxy setting?

need more information on the sequence of events.

you enter the URL in the browser and hit return/enter.
What happens next? you should get a prompt for a userid/password, but
what actually occurs?

have you cleared your browser cache and which browser are you using?

you mention a proxy-- is it configured in your browser or are you guessing?
