what does iexplore application error mean?

I keep getting these messages The instruction at 0x7c9105f8 referenced memory at 0x02fe0010 the memory could not be read what does this mean. I have read on here that someone thinks it is to do with whoever your home page is from. I am with virgin media and have their home page as my opening page. I have only had this computer for the last 3 months.
