What is wlancfg4.exe?

  1. Had computer problems this past weekend. Things went wild and I had to use recovery CDs to get programs to work. There were 3 programs which didn't work, but I have the CDs for them so was able to reinstall. After doing the recovery with the CDs, I got the following error in a pop-up box, and I continue to get it every time the computer is booted. The heading say:

wlancfg4.exe - Unable to Locate Component

Below this is a red button with a white X in it with the message:

This application has failed to start because W32N50.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

For the most part, my computer runs well, even with this error. Occasionally I can't log onto AOL (which isn't such a big loss.. LOL) and occasionally links in my Google email account don't function.

What is wlancfg4.exe? Is it something I can or need to re-install?

    Thanks for any input! ;)

It's a NetGear Wireless LAN utility. Not required for u IMO. Don't worry about it. Its annoying but nothing serious.
