That makes me feel ancient!!

The number one song in the US the day I was born was "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel. In the UK, it was "Love Grows(Where my Rosemary Goes)" by Edison Lighthouse[whoever].

The top tunes on my wife's b-day are much cooler in my opinion:
US: "American Woman" by the great Canadian band Guess Who.

UK: "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum, even though we are both much more familiar with the remake of the song by Doctor and the Medics, a one-hit wonder from the 80's.

Cool idea for a thread, Vehementi.

Why couldn't mine have been a Michael song?

US: Jive Talkin' by The Bee Gees

UK: Barbados by Typically Tropical

And who is this second group?

LNCPapa

the U.S. No.1 on the 19th July 1980 was... It's Still Rock 'N Roll to Me by Billy Joel
the U.K. No.1 on the 19th July 1980 was... Xanadu by Olivia Newton-John And The Electric Light Orchestra

Jack Your Body?????? by Steve Hurley??????? in the UK, and

At This Moment?????? by Billy Vera and the Beaters????????

That sounds out by 30 years...... 1957 rather than 87

Day i first started school, I at least know this one:

Bryan Adams, everything i do in the UK, haven't checked USA

Betty Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes

The funny thing about this is I heard it on the radio today and none of us could remember who sang it... Small world...

UK Chart: Heart by The Pet Shop Boys

US Chart: Where Do Broken Hearts Go? by Whitney Houston

1988 chart ;)
