where r the 478's?

  1. I know I can shop around but I was on tigerdirect today and there are only 3 P4 socket 478 chips left. anybody know why this is? there isnt even a list of socket 478's on the main CPU page anymore

    Well socket 478 is a dead technology...LGA775 (socket T) is the replacement.

    Kinda weird how the only have three tho....i mean its "dead" but it is still widely used.

    yea- just a week ago, they had dozens of them. even newegg doesn't seem to have as many as before. i was looking for a northwood but i only saw a 533fsb
