blimey ....random open-ended question that one.
I'd echo what mash said, but it depends what features you want from your board as to what you look for. Some manufacturers make better Intel boards than they do AMD and vice versa.
I prefer asus and gigabyte.
 
How many of these have you asked? I've seen at least 3 of these 'which is best' questions in different forums here. You need to stop that. You are giving no qualifiers in your question, and therefore it is worthless.
 
Only setback well not really a setback, but its ddr2, and benchmarks clearly state that high end DDR3 has 40% more bandwidth than most ddr2 mobos, which helps with frame rates in games as well.
