Why is my monitor blank

When I turn on my computer, the monitor seems to try and turn on then goes blank. I tried using another monitor and the same thing happens. Does this mean something is wrong with my computer?

Probably.... It could be a number of things.

1st off, what type of machine is it? Laptop, PC? Do you have any Specs on it?

Does it make the little "beep" like it's booting?

Can you hear any action inside - fans spinning, any lights on, Hard Drive noise.

The more info we have, the better we can hopefully help.

This is usually caused by a video graphics card failure. If you have an integrated video socket built into the motherboard, this is serious. Otherwise, just try another card.
First thing to do, though, is to attempt a boot in SAFE MODE. Press <F8> repeatedly once per second as soon as you press the <on> button, then await its boot to safe mode. If it boots to a readable screen here, then your video card is bad... or the driver is bad, or both.
