Why my system takes very long time to close ?

My computer takes a very long time to close. ( Almost 3 to 5 Min )

Also it is very slow when burning a DVD.

It wasn’t this way a month ago.

Only applications I changed were Updated Zone Alarm Pro & Updated Spyware doctor. I uninstalled Spyware Doctor.

I am not good at this & know nothing about DOS or Registry so please tell me step by step instructions on what to do.

For shutdown time decreasing you can try to find some useless software on your startup.

Have you used a prgm (or did you) to enable clearing the paging file at shutdown? May be useful for privacy concerns, but increases shut down time.

I haven't installed any specific program to do that but is there a way to check it in XP ? I am not an expert on this kind of things so any step by step instruction would be highly appreciated.
