Wierd Tapisrv.exe problems

Hello all,

I'm running Win98SE and I just started getting a "Tapisrv.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down, etc." error. When I click details, it says: "TAPISRV caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0177:bff7b997.

The wierd thing is, it also prevents windows explorer from working, including putting Icons on the desktop. The only reason I'm able to use the computer at all is because I just happened to have a copy of Tapisrv.exe on a different drive. I have tried to rename the old file and copy the file that works into the C:\windows\system directory, but every time I reboot it still gives me the same error. I then have to FIND>tapisrv.exe, and then doubleclick on the good one. This situation must end.

Does anyone know what I should to do?

Thanks,

Fishzilla
