Hi there guys. This is my first post and ran across this site while I was looking for a fix for my problem.

I did all 14 steps that you have instructed others and will post these results for further information on how to fix.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Kevin

Hi Sakrificer and welcome to techspot. =)

I noticed that your AVG log displays 'Ignored' for all the files detected. You have also not provided the results of the AVG antiroot scan. Please do so in your next post.

I suggest you run AVG again and quarantine the files. Pictorial instructions HERE. Do this after the following instructions.

Please follow these instructions carefully.

1. Download The Avenger by Swandog46 from HERE. Save it to your Desktop and extract it.

2. Download the attached avengerscript.txt (from my attachment) and save it to your desktop

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by double clicking on its icon on your desktop.

Under "Script file to execute" choose "Load script from file".
Now click on the folder icon which will open a new window titled "open Script File"
navigate to the file you have just downloaded, click on it and press open
Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:

It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

Run HijackThis and Fix the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6539C16D-4671-4D7D-A563-4402E69CDDD5} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vsovqlbc.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8BF02A74-58F9-4D39-BAAF-AD59A3CE3594} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vsovqlbc.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D8D734E2-E761-470D-8095-673F5C9C6DBE} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {CEE326E8-7571-4086-B347-3C0ACA9A9DE8} (PcubeSet Class) - http://config.hyosungcdn.com/download/hsloadset.cab

Close HJT.

Run your AVG antispyware scan now and quarantine all items. Save your log.

Please post the C:\avenger.txt as well as fresh HijackThis, ComboFix and AVG antispyware logs from normal mode as attachments to this thread.

2. Download the attached avengerscript.txt (from my attachment) and save it to your desktop

I don't see an attached script. Am I just missing it?

Kevin

I haven't done the Avenger thing as of yet, but I did do the other 3 things that were mentioned. All fresh scans, and I did set avg to quarentine, am I doing it wrong?

Also, as far as the rootkit, when I ran it, with my system disabled/unplugged from the net and in Safe mode, it found nothing. Should it have found something?

HJT - removed the selected files as told.

AVG - Their were 10 probles, which had 'delete' next to them, went to the bottom of the page and right clicked and set save action as Quarentene.

Combofix - just ran and saved report.

Thanks in the future/past for any help.

Kevin

Hi,

Sorry about that. Please find attached the script file. I'll run you by the instructions again.

It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.

The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Reboot into safe mode and unhide all your files.

Go to start > run and type services.msc. Press the enter key.
Search for the following services. Double click to select stop if they are running. Set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok for each service you disable.

sclick
StUnInst

Go to start > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs.
Remove anything related to the following:

WinMsg

After that, run HijackThis and fix the following entries, if found (do this by placing a tick in the check boxes beside these entries and clicking "Fix checked"):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [StUnInst] C:\Program Files\WinMsg\uinst.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sclick] C:\Program Files\WinMsg\sclick.exe

Close HJT.

Navigate in Windows Explorer and delete the following files and folders in bold.

C:\Program Files\WinMsg

Reboot into normal mode and rehide your protected OS files.

6. Please attach the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply, as well as a fresh HJT log and ComboFix.

OK. Think I got done all of what you said. Please let me know if I missed something.

I took 2 screen shots, and posted them below, I did not find what you were asking me to delete, which is why I took the ss just to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks again for all of the help.

Kevin

Hi,

Could you post your logs from normal mode? I'd have to see if the nasties turn up in normal mode. Thanks.

Not sure I understand what you mean by normal mode.

And, I may not get back right with you as I am leaving town here in a few hours for the weekend. I may be taking my tower with me, so that might change. :)

Thanks again for all of the help.

Hi,

Your log shows that you booted from 'safe mode'. I would need you to boot up normally and not in safe mode, then run the scans and save the logs.
