Windows 2000 Pro Problem

Within the past couple of weeks, I've be getting a Blue screen during the course of booting up which says Inaccessible Boot Device. I can't gain access into Windows. Another curious side effect I've been getting is that when I press and hold the power button to turn off the computer, the computer doesn't seem to fully turn off. The Num Lock light on the keyboard still stays on.

I would like to try to run CHKDSK to see if that will solve the problem but I can't seem to get to the Menu where you can get the option to boot from a CD-ROM. From what I can tell, the BIOS menu doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for. When I press and hold F8 for Advanced Options, that doesn't seem to mention "boot from CD" either. Is there another button(s) that I should press to get to CHKDSK?

Thanks in advance.

The num lock light will always stay on and is nothing to worry about. There should be an option in BIOS to change your boot settings. you'll just have to look harder.
