Ok...I have no clue why but I have Windows 2000 Proffesional on my laptop computer and recently it has been acting up. I am able to be on my computer pops up stating the following:

"This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT Authoriy\System

TIME BEFORE SHUTDOWN: (1 min countdown here)

Message:
The System process
'C:\WINNT\system32\services.exe'
terminated unexpectedly with status code
128. The system will now shut down and
restart."

I have no clue why it does that and how I can fix it. Please help me

In all likelyhood, you've been infected by the Blaster worm(symantec.com)

Get the patch for the exploit here.

If you need more time when the system is shutting down, click the start menu and select "Run", then type "shutdown -a" and click OK.

you'll need to use a blaster removal tool. If you can't, then you'll need to reload the OS and install an anti-virus. THEN download all service packs.

Ok...I tired downloading the proper program I need from microsoft.com byt it says there is an error and it cannont be ofund on their servers. Anyone else know where I can find a blaster worm remover.
