is there anyway i can reinstall windows XP professional without the restore disk i was given with the computer?

Only if you have access to another disk..you can use your legal key for it. Keep in mind...theres probably a Hidden Partition on your drive with all your oem Drivers etc...if you Fdisk it..they,er history..
