Windows issue

O.K I just ran this program called reg seeker and cleaned my registry and clicked on tweaks, and now my desktop is all screwed up. It changed my task bar to where all my quick launch items are shown it will not allow me to change it, my tabs do not show on the task bar as they did before, my start button got smaller and change color to gray. Can anyone help me without a reformat?

SnapFiles shows RegSeeker as a legitimate download:

You'll have to determine just which one. You don't give any system information, but if you have Windows XP, try doing a System Restore to a date before you ran the program:

All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore> click on 'restore my computer to an earlier time'> choose a date in bold on the left> Next> let it run.

Be sure your active Windows have been closed. If this fixes the problem, I advise you not to use a Registry unless you are an advanced user. If it does not, you will need to scan with your anti-virus program, updating just before you scan.

I could not do a system restore for whatever reason but I ran the XP disk and did a repair and everything is better without losing all my data, I guess I wont mess around with that program again.

Registry cleaners are not safe unless you are an experienced user. The reason being, if you get a choice and have to answer 'do you want to remove xxx', the average person doesn't know what to answer. And as you found, sometimes valid, needed entries can be removed.

If you would like to try and find the reason you couldn't do the System Restore, I can help. It's a very helpful function to use and have.
