Windows wont boot

Im having problems trying to get my computer to boot back up. yesterday i updated the bios of my motherboard b/c i got a stop message saying that the bios should be updated, so i did. and now it wont boot up properly, it starts up normally, then when it gets to the windows xp loading screen, it takes a long time and then the screen goes black and it starts to restart again. i tried booting from the cd and repairing windows several times and nothing happened. ive also tried the floppy method but dir c: comes up with invalid drive. any help would be appreciated

First, what BIOS do you have (or that you updated to)?

my motherboard is a gigabyte ga-7n00, and i had the f5 version and now its f11

You could try setting your Bios to fail safe settings.
