Windows Xp Appearance

My parents just bought a new Sony Vaio RB series, which was used as a Display Model in a store. You know how people mess around the it! Well, every time I view something in the computer that is in a window, the view comes up in a list (ex my computer set up like a list). My parents like the whole computer set up in the icon format in those Windows, and I cannot figure out how to reset it to default. Any help would be much appreciated!

Open a window and click on the view menu. Set the view to whatever you like. Click on the tools menu and select folder options, click on the view tab and click the Apply to all folders option. Click apply/ok.
