I have a slightly annoying problem. Occasionally, when I reboot the system or the system comes out of sleep mode I cannot type the password in the welcome screen for any account (there are three). I have to do ctrl-alt-del in order to get the log in dialog box and log in that way. Once I log off after that, all is fine. It is a computer with a 3.2 G-Hz P4 and 1 gig of RAM running Win XP Home SP2. It is running, Avast and Winpatrol Plus with Windows Firewall enabled as it is behind a router/firewall. Thanks in advance.

your registry could be corrupt. Have you run CHKDSK on your C: drive or run crap cleaner (ccleaner) registry repair?
