Windows XP pro COA

I probably shouldn't have but I bought a Windows XP pro coa without the media and am stuck getting it installed. I have XP pro on another machine and thought I could just use that disk. During installation a screen comes up and says Product Key is for another version or invalid version. Any idea how to figure out from the Product Key or COA numbers what version I should have and how to get it. The people at the place I bought the COA are uncommunicative, imagine that. most likely the COA you purchased is for and OEM version and the one you are trying to use it on is not.
