Hi, can anyone help? When I try to shut down or log off, windows does nothing - it doesnt freeze but it ignores the command. Why is this??

(I'm using Windows XP home edition)

Do you mean nothing at all happens or that it simply remains on the "saving your files screen" and never shuts down?

This has happened to me before...I usually just reset manually and let it restart itself...mine usually happened when I was overworking my cpu by serious multitasking(dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, nero recode and games at the same time)

That must have been why. It's working fine now.
Thanks.
