I have been using a peer-to-peer utility lately called WinMX to download a few MP3's and AVI's. I have not had much trouble with it, until I tried to uninstall it. The uninstall window asks for confirmation of removal, then another window opens for a millisecond and disappears. The app did not uninstall. It isn't listed in the programs list for software removal in Control Panel. How do I uninstall this little #$@#? My system is:

Intel Celeron 1.0GHZ
Win XP Home

Any suggestions or advice?

Try doing a search for it on your computer and removing all folders related to the program. Then, open the registry and delete any unneeded keys pertaining to this program, but be careul not to delete anything relavent!!!

Either that or you can download a program like RegCleaner and removing all the registry entries with one click.

You can find it here:

The website is www.jv16.org

If it isn't in the program list I have found that it is okay generally to just delete the folder manually as SuperCheeta suggested.
