wireless router

trying to install a wireless linksy router, but am unable to get it to work. Is my zonelab firewall preventing the set up from completing?
i read somehwere about going to IE and typing in an IP adress,but since i am unable to complete the setup process, i will be on line with my modem instead of the router, will router still be able to do its thing?

Your modem is supposed to be connected to the router, therefore you could not possibly be online "with your modem".

You did read the router's manual, supplied in PDF form, right?
