Wot CPU to go for

i am in need of a cpu and i was going to buy a socket 754 amd 64 3200+ and a msi k8n neo platinum mobo. now that nvidia have released a new line of mobos that look tasty (apart from the basic 1) i am thinking of hanging on until the price of the socket 939 comes down. is this a gd choice or shall i just buy the socket 754 with the k8n???

The 939 is going to have a longer life so if you are looking for long term satisfaction, socket 939 is the way to go.

If you are looking for immediate satisifaction at the best value, the soon-to-be-value-platform socket 754 is the best choice.

My adice is don't wait... I do it all the time and I don't listen to my own advice. Otherwise you keep waiting...

You'll keep waiting forever.. the line has come out, then when price drops you'll want to get the new line/a new cpu for it htat just came out etc.. Ive done it

Establish a realistic budget.
Decide on the Hardware.
Shop around reliable Vendors.
And Buy.
It does not matter,there will always be Bigger,Better ,Faster.
