WOW"mpq" error

Just sent my son a computer- PSU, RAM, etc. are all capable- has evga6600GT,1GB RAM,Pentiu D805-

On trying to load World of Warcraft, he keeps getting an error involving MPQ files. In researching a bit,it seems that MPQ is not actually a file extension, or something like that, but anyway, it won't instal, even with the files first copied to desktop.

Any suggestions? Thanks-

the MPQ is a format that WOW uses to install the files, if your gettinga MPQ error due to installing there are a couple of reasons, first it may be that the HDD drive has bad sectors or is heavly fragmented WOW wont install if this is the case so run defrag and also do a scan of the HDD drive for errors, if that doesn't work then another issue that can cause an MPQ error is to do with RAM problems so check your RAM for issues if there are any you would need to replace it.
