Write error with Nero 7 and Other programs

I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem im having. Its strange because I keep getting write errors when I try to burn cd's with nero and alcohol 120. I try burning like 10 cds and I get the same thing. I cant figure out whats wrong because my drive can read cds just fine and the brand i use for the cds ive been using for a while now. It's like on day it just stopped working. Well i saved the log if it helps.

I think it may be time to consider getting a new burner. You`ve done really well to have had your present burner for so long.

My burner started doing exactly the same thing. Replacing it solved the problem.

You can try to clean out with dust remover and run DVD/CD cleaner on the lens before you try to replace it. If that doesn't work get rid of it.. These devices have so many MTB hours of usage before they fail. 16x has been replaced by 18x and the new 20x multi-format burners.

well its confusing since it reads cds/dvds just fine its just the burning

Your burners L.A.S.E.R. uses a different frequency to burn or read.

Just because it reads ok, doesn`t mean it`s going to burn ok as you`ve found out.

Replace the drive.

Oh those combo drives yes, they have a problem with nero. I got to the point to say just buy a CDRW instead to use with DVDRW. Use one for burning DVDs and the other to burn CDs. When I burn CDs they skip with the combo drive. If I use CDRW they don't skip. So I have two drives. No big deal to me. But I know the DVD combo not working right when it comes to burning CDs. It was cheaper to buy a retail CDRW then to go OEM drive.
