XP install hang

Having a problem installing XP Pro.
Almost done but hangs at Installing Windows stops responding (hangs) during the registering components mode portion of setup. (16 minures to go!!!!!!)
Any thoughts? Read about memory, I'll remove 2 pieces when I get back to the system and try that.
Any other ideas?

Hi computchick,

Xp Hangs At that point and also at Installing Devices section usually because because you have Disk sector Allocation problems, the way to cure it is usually to perform a Clean install by deleting the partition table and repartiioning and full formating, or even using HDD regeneration tool. then installing. Try removing all USB Devices till after install has completed.
