Hello all, here is my crazy problem...

On my notebook, I have Xp Pro and Xp Home installed on the C Parition. All my data has been stored to my D partition.

My XP Pro crashed, and says I have an unmountable boot volume. The Xp Home works and in the XP home, I can view the existence of the D partition, however I cannot access it. I have tried to access the drive via methods instructed on this forum, but non have worked. It simply says I do not have access to that partition. The Partition with the data I wish to recover is in RAW format, I do not know how that happened. I want to basically remove the hard drive and use another computer to mediate the data recovery. Any suggeestions?

raw mode means ONLY some proprietary software knows how to read the data
(Oracle DBMS does this). Your post suggest that RAW mode is not the original
mode and that it got tweeked by some evil-villan.

I've not used these tools myself SO BE CAREFUL.

READ the instructions -- you're looking for a program that will allow you
to modify a specific setting WITHOUT inducing a format!

Beeblebrox offers a partition table editor

PCsupport.DK offers an editor too

Partition Table Doctor might be useful

Thanks for your input. For safety, would it be a good idea to clone or copy the harddrive i wish to work on and then try to recover my data off the cloned or copied image?
