xp problem

I downloaded a rar file it was infected then AVG healed it, it asked to restart so thats what i did, pc booted up i reached to the point where theres a bar indicateing its loading then suddenly it turns black, few secs later it restarts to the begiinning.

I can only go on safe mode which shows all the files are there, I dont have access to normal mode for some reason.

Does anyone here know a way how i can fix it?

Have you recently installed any new software? If so then try reinstalling it.
Have you recently installed any new hardware? If so then check the drivers.
Always take these steps first for problems like this.

If this does not work then you have a virus/malware problem and should have your thread redirected to the "Security and the web" forum. There you will be told how to remove any nasties that could be the root cause.
