MSI has unveiled an enhanced "Pro" edition of its X-Slim X600 ultrathin notebook. The X-Slim X600 Pro swaps the insipid Core 2 Solo SU 3500 1.4GHz to a more powerful Core 2 Duo processor (the model is unspecified). The Pro unit also drops Vista in favor of Windows 7 Home Premium, and appears to offer an optional (presumably external) DVD or Blu-ray drive.

Apart from those additions, the X600 Pro looks nearly unchanged. The 2.5cm-thin notebook features a 15.6-inch 1366x768 LED display, Intel's GS56 + ICH9M chipset, a 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330, 4GB of DDR2 667 or 800MHz RAM, up to a 640GB HDD, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a six-cell battery.

Connectivity options include gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n wireless, optional Bluetooth and WiMax, HDMI, VGA, two USB 2.0 ports with a USB/eSATA combo, a two-in-one card reader, and audio jacks. MSI has yet to disclose a price or date of availability.
