After spawning 66 ads in a four year period, Gizmodo reports that Apple might be ending its very successful "Get a Mac" ad campaign soon. Despite being lambasted by PC enthusiasts, the often times quirky and sometimes unscrupulous series of ads generated plenty of buzz for Apple, creating a meme-like interest in the form of parodies, memorabilia and more.

While still little more than a rumor, the claim is substantiated by actor Justin Long (the Mac) who quotes his PC counterpart (John Hodgman) as saying Apple is "going to move on." Justin continues, expressing a heavy heart from the possibility of not working with his antithetical colleague any longer.

If you are feeling nostalgic, Apple maintains an extensive archive of its "Get a Mac" ads here.
