Gateway has overhauled its NV laptop line, recruiting several new 15.6 (NV5) and 17.3-inch (NV7) models to the ranks. Most of the latest notebooks will roll out to retailers in the coming weeks, but at least one is available today: the NV59C09u.

The 15-incher is pushed as a "multimedia powerhouse" and it's furnished with a 1366x768 display, an Intel Core i3-330M processor and GMA graphics, 4GB of DDR3 1066MHz RAM, a 320GB 5400RPM HDD, and a Blu-ray drive. There's also a 1280x1024 webcam, gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n, one HDMI and three USB ports, a multi-card reader, a multi-gesture touchpad, and a six-cell battery that vows to keep your machine ticking for up to 5 hours.

The NV59C09u is priced at $800, but forthcoming initiates will start as low as $530 and range in configuration from budget student and family notebooks to those equipped for gaming or video editing. They're not all Intel-based either, AMD's Athlon and Turion processors were mentioned in the press release. Select NV7 units will also feature dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD graphics chips, as well.
