Gaming on the AG493UCX is really quite special, and while this screen isn’t perfect, it is going to be hard to switch back to a 16:9, or even 21:9, monitor.

As impressive as this screen is for some titles, it's not for every game or application, and those limitations might become irritating if you switch to using different software. The hardware is nicely specified, and reasonably priced, but isn’t for everyone.

Though it doesn’t render HDR as well as some more expensive monitors, the AOC Agon AG493UCX delivers everything else necessary for a killer gaming experience. FreeSync and 120Hz unite with excellent contrast and tremendous width to bring players deep into the gaming environment. It’s a great alternative to multiple displays.

We love the AOC AG493UCX’s revamped AGON design which appeals to gamers without being too aggressive or tacky. There’s also the lower price of around a grand at launch which is considerably cheaper than its Samsung competitor. We recommend the AOC AG493UCX if you want enjoy a super ultrawide screen at a lower price since you have to spend more if you want a better overall performance.
