It did get boring after a while but held our interest. It as actually one of the most boring game we’ve played in a while, but again wasn’t terrible at all.

Face off in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Seize the Scrolls, Domination, Touchdown, or settle the score with a friend or foe in Duel. But be sure to tinker with your loadouts to find that winning edge. Tune weapons like the machine gun, crossbow, or hammer to make them stronger. Equip power-ups for that added health, armor, or damage increase.

But if you're just looking for a simple, fun twitch-based shooter with just enough thematic differences to distinguish it from its countless contemporary military counterparts, you'll find it does its job well enough to warrant a download. Whether or not you stick around will depend on your tolerance for a balancing mechanic...

Outside of the tutorial level -- which is a shame because first impressions can kill a game -- this game is a ton of fun and I loved almost everything about it. Personally, I think I'm going to be playing this one for a while.

It is fun, undoubtedly, to add a little uniqueness to your character but it doesn’t transform a standard shooter into something new. Nevertheless, piercing other players’ faces with a clockwork crossbow is still fun as hell, so if you long for an old-school action-packed gameplay, you shouldn’t hesitate to try Renaissance Heroes.
