Fu** DELL

6 month ago I got a Latitude D600 from a friend. BIOS pass locked, naturally. After reading several hours of this thread I chose to go with the Tag trasfer form allthough I didn't know the original owner. 3 weeks later i got the Master password from Dell, for free, and it worked!!!
1 month ago I bought a used D620, locked too, and contacted Dell via the Tag transfer form once again, still not knowing the original owner. This time they will not help! And it's not even stolen.

"We are not sure what happened in past but we are bound by the policies and we cannot transfer the ownership without the original owner info and this is the final statement from us."

Copy and Paste from the last mail they sent me. Way to go Dell...

I will do almost anything to get a Master Password for this machine, but I won't pay some "company" $50, without any form of guarantee that the password is working.

If someone out there has the keygen please PM me and we'll work something out!

Hi There

Actually..., I also have a password problem...,had to remove HD from laptop where a particular partition was password protected. Plugged the drive into a "Termaltake" external drive cartridge. So far so good..., but the partition that was admin password protected causes a "access denied" message when I try to access the folder.

Any suggestions how to unlock the backup folder?

Thanks

I have had success plugging a locked harddisk into my macbook via a usb enclosure.
I filled the hard disk with 0's and then later formatted it mac os extended. Then dropped the partiton and reformmated ntfs. After that was done.. all was good

Note that i was unable to see any partition in winxp but in macos it showed all but was locked until i did the above

I bought a dell laptop from ebay, the person i bought it off gave me the safeboot password but he forgot the bios password, everything workes but i would like to enable wifi in the bios.

is there someone who could help me with the bios password of a

If you can boot a cd... I would advise you to go
and download the dst-cd (password = smellyalater)
there is a link here in the forums for it
Delete the service tag in which would remove the password

are people not reading the forum? I mean come on
I would figure one wouldn't post things so blindlessly.
One just might find the answer they are looking for just by reading.

Early this morning (9:30 AM local time...) A DELL supporter phoned me and told me that he had my Master password for me! It was only yesterday he told me it might take up to 2 weeks. I entered the password and it accepted it! Then it went straight to hte HDD-password. next the supporter then has to ask Sweden for a HDD-pass for me, but since I had an extra HDD lying around, my D600 is now up and runnig! It took less then 3 weeks and at no other charge for me except my phone bill!
I think that's OK!!!
That was great news back then :)
All members wanting to get their laptop unlocked through Dell should first try:

==> http://support.dell.com/support/top...tag_transfer?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&redirect=1 <==

The best help here:
Do not purchase Dell laptops that are password protected
Dell probably thinks you are in business or something

For everyone else. Try the above link first, here are the reasons why:
1. It's the cheapest out of all the paid services
2. It puts the Dell computer in your name :) (This will help for further support in the future) :approve:
3. You do not help the 3rd party leeches that make money from this :p
4. You should try it first anyway! (I would, at worst, they can only say No, other than that it's a Yes)

Also continue to read all posts made here. There may even be a free method (being the paperclip method)

Dell XPS Bios Problems

Ok... I just got a Dell Xps M1330 Series Laptop second hand. unfortunatly, it cannot be switched into my name through dell because i know nothing of the last actual owner so they won't help me, and to make it worse it has the Bios Pass set and i have no way of getting around it, popping out the battery doesn't work and there is no bypass pins and the backdoor pass Dell doesn't work. only thing i'm seeing is that i'm going to have to spend some guy like 100 bucks to fix this because the only other way is to actually jumper pins on the chip itself and that's a little to risky for me to try with such a nice computer. i haven't seen anything about this type of thing on any site with the XPS so i'm not really sure what to do please help

*** btw i did submit for ownership transfer at http ://support.dell.com/support/topi...dhs&redirect=1 but i din't know previous owners info so i inserted idon'tknow into both feilds for name and 000-000-0000 for the phone *****

Hello! I just got this HP Compaq NX9005 and it has a boot password set. I have read on other forums that, on this particular model, resetting the CMOS would remove the password. I have taken it apart, removed the battery, got the "invalid cmos data" message but the password is still there.
Can anyone help?
My system hash code is "05469"
Thank you!

Bios password help dell D630

I need a fix for service tag 7FK5FD1-595B for a dell latitude D630 any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys

I bought a used Dell D620 for my boyfrinds birthday. We can´t start it - there ist only the grey screen of death. If I had read about all your problems with Dell before, I would never have bought a used one.

The Service Tag is 46V2T2J-595B - please help me ! I can´t afford losing the money for the notebook !

Greetings from the Netherlands - Antje

P.S.

does the password tool from users.globalnet.co.uk work for me ? I can´t try as It works in Dos only - if I´m right.

Sorry for that but there is so much to read about this problem. It´s hard to find a solution for my problem in those thousands of posts.
I haven´t even found out, if anybody here has the right programm to calculate the password I need.
It´s a shame - I´m in hurry and I will have to buy a master password if I don´t find out these days :(

Sometimes the members who have these password Generators
Actually give this information freely on this exact thread

By doing so, they show good faith, in helping and also give that "community" spirit in being here in the first place.

Therefore other than trying all the above (which you could re-confirm, including obviously Dell themselves) You could actually wait a couple of days, and see. With any luck someone will help you, freely. :)

I have tried using the latitude.exe with no success, maybe I am doing something wrong I get it to run in cmd but I cant seem to get it to generate a password, any help would be appreciated.

I want to know if anyone who previously unlocked their Dell laptop..
Specifically the D620 ending with the hated tag of 595B When you entered your code in, how exactly was it done?
I see in some threads that one enters the password and press alt and enter (do I keep alt pressed) or press control and then enter (do I keep that one pressed)..
Exactly what button combinations do you use.
And when your explaining it.. please and try to be precise and make it dummy proof.

Also have you tried to use a USB Keyboard to type in the password? Could that be possible to use?

Thank you.

I would like to re-state to all New members, that there are FREE alternatives, than paying high costs.

Before deciding to accept any message on how you can pay to receive your passwords:
1. Read this entire thread (you are currently on) On many laptops, the passwords can be freely removed
2. Dell will supply you a password for under $40 only
3. Shop around. There are many pay for services out there, quite a few at eBay, and basically a Google search will find hundreds!

You have been informed
.
