Notice it sasy that AGP status is not available is that normal for this card?? (manufacturer states card supports agp texturing in agp 2x/4x mode)
Also in JediKnight2 the graphics card is labeled as a geforce4mx440/PCI/3dnow strange since its an agp card?

What can I try to enable AGP??

Any help is appreciated.

You most likely will have to enable AGP texturing in your system BIOS on bootup.

sigh

Hi thanx for sortin out the duplicate posts
Enable agp textures in the bios is that with the agp aperture size
setting? I know if its too low that it disables agp texturing but presently its set at 128mb so I dont think the problems there.
I read on another post how the nvidia drivers default to PCI mode
on an agp card when used with Ali Magik1 northbridge chipset on the motherboard can anyone confirm this is there any kind of
work around?? If its true then thats my problem and that this
plain sucks (real tears).
Another strange thing happened I tried to install a geforce2pro and a geforce2 mx to see if the problem persisted but when I try
to install the card the installation process starts but then I get an error message the data is curropted or something similar if I use the auot install with nvidia reference drivers it finishes restarts comp but win xp detects a new vga adapter no sign of the drivers I just installed *SIGH*
Reinstall of XP looms how do i reformat the drive???????????????????????????????????????????????????????:p

I had exactly the same problem with my Radeon 8500DV. I enabled AGP textures by installing the mobo drivers, that I had forgotten to install. That took care of it.

Hope this helps.

success but i couldnt tell you why?

Oh My GOD!
I've had some kinda flukey luck? I've installed my old geforce2
gts pro card and agp texturing is avaliable and more importantly
win XP installed the card itself?? So I can get agp on this
motherboard :)
I was just bout to go to bed 3am here and after trying to enable
agp texturing on the Geforce4 I thought what the hey I'll have to do a system restore anyway so I uninstalled drivers I got an error
about some files remaining so I rebooted and looked for nvidia files and I deleted everything i could find loads of nview folders (2),(3) etc then I found a strange file
nvdisp4 from the 12.40 drivers I never had those on my system
hmmm so I zapped it and when I swapped cards and rebooted
BAM! no new hardware wizard the geforce2gtspro is there in all its slightly aged glory? And AGP texturing is avaliable in dxdiag
currently running det 23.12s who knows where they came from??
Are the in the XB cabfiles or somein?? Could it have been a driver conflict? or a problem with twin view?
Thanx for everyones help though I still am mystified as to why it
seems to work now *clueless* I'd like to upgrade drivers but I'm
worried it wil fluff things up? Also like to try the Geforce4 see if
agp texturing is supported now for some reason.
I have latest Ali Agp driver not sure what version is on at the
moment prob whatever comes with XP. Will it be ok to install it now or should I do a clean install?
sings *mystified*
Whoops me thinks it was a bad idea to wake girlfriend with the news shes working in 3hrs DOH! I can still hear her swearin and grumbling to herself

its over....

Ok just thought I'd update the situation after a few reinstalls of win XP various phone calls to my computer manufacturer who were no help what so ever I'm still waiting to hear back with their fix/patch that takes 3 days to "burn test", the problem is solved and performance is better :D
As I thought it was a problem with the AliMagick1 chipset and the latest nvidia reference drivers defaulting the agp card to PCI mode *shudder* thanks to a wonderful tweak utility Riva Tuner and the EnableAliAGP tweak and also to Pavlo and Barry Walsh on the
alt.comp.periphs.videocards.nvidia newsgroup for pointing out
the solution and they're prompt replies :D.
