None of you have played Unreal II so I suggest that you do. Your making all these comments based on rumors. Trust me I didnt want to play it either, I downloaded because of the rumors, and now that I played the game I was VERY impressed. The first 1-2 levels werent all that great, but the game graphics are amazing, good story, awesome new game physics, etc...
This game made me go WOW many times. On one level there were these fairy looking creatures flying high up in the sky and I shot it down with the snipe rifle.. just watching it fall was kind of cool because of how it spun while falling. Then once it hit the ground one of the native creatures (just creatures that walk around that live on the planet that the level takes place on) went after the thing that I shot down, grabbed it in its mouth and ran off with it. I watched it for a bit and waited for it to get to the top of the hill and once it did I shot it with the sniper rifle and watched it literally tumbled down the hill... once the hill leveled off it proceeded to slide down the hill as it leveled off more and finally to a stop. I literally sat there and said "whoa! that was cool!".
Don't judge books by it's cover. Trust me this game is a lot better than it is rumored to be. Just because you played Unreal and liked it doesn't mean Unreal II has to be the same style of game. That is just ignorance.
Get the game and play it all the way through and then make comments.
Also if you play half way through the first 2 levels and quit then your not doing the game justice. The first level sucks literally, but the graphics get MUCH better.
Ignore what Unreal 1 was, and play this game as it is a totally different new game. When people judge a second game by the first it makes me sick. It is just like the people that complain about bands going a different route. The developers have no obligation to make a sequel out a certain way just as bands have no obligation to do what fans ask. They do it because they love making music, same as true game developers do the job for the love of gaming and game developing.
